Wedorama: The Ultimate Wedding Website

When we got engaged I couldn't make a site fast enough on theknot.com, but it did not offer me enough editing capabilities and customization. I found out about a site that is owned through theknot.com called Wedorama.com, and it is a website that you can post all of your information about your wedding, and so much more.

I got a coupon through the knot and got an amazing deal. I would highly recommend this to any bride that is looking for a show stopper website to show to friends/family/ guests.

DIY Project 3: Custom Monogram Part 2

I have never been the type of person who just has one thing and makes a decision on it. I need choices, even with things I am making myself. I made another custom monogram last night, and now I need to decide which one to use for the wedding. Any thoughts on which one I should use? Below is the other monogram (sorry the picture is so slow, I had to keep resizing it to fit into the post)

Photobucket

I changed the flowers that we are having at the church. Originally I had 6 pew flowers (first three rows) of bushels of roses, but the more I thought about that I really did not want it. So I called my florist yesterday (she is amazing by the way), and told her that I wanted to do something different. I had red flowers originally in the church, but now we changed them to all white, as well as got rid of the pew flowers and replaced them with two large flower arrangements to go at the front of the church. I am really excited about this. She is going to send me a picture later on, and I can't wait to see them.

More later, I am just getting going for the day.

Stuffy Nose Bride: Dealing With Allergies and Your Wedding

For a few months out of the year Feb-May/June I have the worst allergies. I have the extreme stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, its just horrid. This year has been especially bad, which makes me worried about my allergies going crazy on the wedding day!

In a desperate attempt to figure out what to do I have started a new allergy regime. I am still taking my daily allergy pill, but have also added an allergy decongestant. I was buying the ones that were out on the aisles at the drug store, but they were not helping, so I got the decongestant from the pharmacist, and they work so much better. With the new laws about the pseudoephedrine require it to be kept behind the counter, but they work so much better. You have to fill out some information, but who cares, I need relief!

What I am basically saying is take care of your allergies before your wedding, take something, go to an allergist. You don't want to have your wedding day be all up in stuffy land. One sneeze could ruin all of your eye makeup.

Here is a link that I found with more information: Don't Let your Nose Spoil your Nuptials

DIY Project 2: Custom Monogram

I was able to make a custom monogram for things for our wedding, thanks to the blog:
Wedding Monograms

I don't know if this will be my final one, but I am super excited about it. I keep using photoshop elements at school, but I think that I need to buy my own version. I was looking on the website and they will give a 30 free trial, and then to buy the entire program it is just 79.99. No complaints there!

Hopefully I will be able to create another template today, maybe the table numbers, but we shall see. I didn't come to school to work on this, I have a huge paper due and am skipping my classes before to make sure it is all edited.

DIY Project 1: Directions to Reception

So I made the cards that we are going to hand out after the ceremony to give our guests directions to the wedding reception. I am pretty please how they turned out. I have a little more tweaking to do, but overall I am very happy. We are going to print them on white cardstock.

Here is a small .gif of it. Blogger wouldnt let me make it any bigger. Oh well you get the drift.

Full Mass and Catholic Weddings

Came across this while reading for today, and it was really helpful and interesting to read on why it is important to have a full mass ceremony for our wedding. It just makes me that much more excited for the ceremony!

II. The Celebration of Marriage
1621
In the Latin Rite the celebration of marriage between two Catholic faithful normally takes place during Holy Mass, because of the connection of all the sacraments with the Paschal mystery of Christ.120 In the Eucharist the memorial of the New Covenant is realized, the New Covenant in which Christ has united himself for ever to the Church, his beloved bride for whom he gave himself up.121 It is therefore fitting that the spouses should seal their consent to give themselves to each other through the offering of their own lives by uniting it to the offering of Christ for his Church made present in the Eucharistic sacrifice, and by receiving the Eucharist so that, communicating in the same Body and the same Blood of Christ, they may form but "one body" in Christ.122
1622
"Inasmuch as it is a sacramental action of sanctification, the liturgical celebration of marriage . . . must be, per se, valid, worthy, and fruitful."123 It is therefore appropriate for the bride and groom to prepare themselves for the celebration of their marriage by receiving the sacrament of penance.
1623
According to the Latin tradition, the spouses as ministers of Christ's grace mutually confer upon each other the sacrament of Matrimony by expressing their consent before the Church. In the traditions of the Eastern Churches, the priests (bishops or presbyters) are witnesses to the mutual consent given by the spouses,124 but for the validity of the sacrament their blessing is also necessary.125
1624
The various liturgies abound in prayers of blessing and epiclesis asking God's grace and blessing on the new couple, especially the bride. In the epiclesis of this sacrament the spouses receive the Holy Spirit as the communion of love of Christ and the Church.126 The Holy Spirit is the seal of their covenant, the ever-available source of their love and the strength to renew their fidelity.
